“Adele” seems like a simple enough name to pronounce.  But when it comes to the British singer Adele, we may have been saying it wrong all this time.

Adele recently hosted a “happy hour” to promote her new video for “I Drink Wine”, and she took questions from the audience.

After hearing a woman from London pronounce her name “perfectly”, Adele then explained the proper pronunciation herself.

Chances are, you’ve been calling her uh-DEL all this time.  But it turns out, it’s more like uh-DALE, or huh-DALE.
