Tattoos used to be reserved for sailors and people who were “anti-establishment” but as today’s trend shows, tattoos are increasingly more popular and can now be PAIN FREE. A team out of Georgia Tech just invented painless tattoos.

Regular tattoos are performed with a small needle repeatedly puncturing the skin. But the new technique doesn’t involve traditional needles at all!

They use a patch armed with thousands of microscopic needs on one side, they’re so small you can’t even feel them. The best part is that is doesn’t effect the permanency of the tattoo.

The microscopic needs are are MADE of tattoo ink that’s encased in a material that is strong enough to penetrate the skin and then it dissolves. Every little needle represents a single pixel and they can be arranged any way you want them to. That means you can design your own tattoo at home on your computer, order it online and apply yourself!

It’s also said that these tattoos are supposed to be cheaper than regular tattoos and there’s a lower risk of infection since there’s no blood!
